It's something that keeps people off Kymlun: "Nothing to do when there is no dm on or when Burn is the only one on."

Level up - XP and availability needs to be further balanced so it's not too fast nor too slow. Opinions please?
Gather items / gold - Further balancing the subject
Explore - I'm going to pick up the mod soon and add stuffz.
Challenging encounters / tasks (Riddle dungeons maybe?)
Progressing tasks (Such as leveling up just not in xp... Crafting you benefit from, what else?)

Former mistakes I've made:
1. Restricting levels is a bad idea, it's one of the main activities in an rpg.
2. Item imbalances are a bad idea on the long run, it's best to allow for progressive gear. (Lore's idea of items that level up with you sound good to me personally. We just need to set the circumstances in which an item will level up so you don't just level your character but your weapon as well for example.)
3. The feeling of distance between high and low levels can be discouraging.

So what I think Kymlun needs to improve on is:
1. Freedom
- To be able to create characters one enjoys
- To be able to do pretty much anything one wants
- Game not to be a job, I felt that way a lot of times before

2. Communication
- Between me and the dms so you guys know what I've had in mind
- Between the dms and the players so the players don't feel isolated
- Clear info on the setting, if I disallow planewalkers I need to give solid info on what one can use for a background obviously.

An idea:

Maybe the setting needs refreshment.

Something else to be interested about?

Perhaps if something cataclysmic happened and the entire module was tipped upside down and shook.

Areas are permanently changed. Characters permanently changed.

Involves mucho work.

Less area work than plot work when Babylon actually returns and gets opened...

I was thinking along the lines of:

examples to promote conflict and finding things to war against or ally with:
* Janzel destroys Solinar, Domorus is defeated by chaos. Cultists round up survivors and slaughter them in rituals.
* Nherazkar leadership is usurped by Orc leadership, transforming the town into a hostile tribal setting
* A powerful, ageless Lich consumes the Westport Clergy, and now taints the temple
* Players (starting point) are forced to have underground operations and live in fear of darkness...

Sounds like it could be fun, but would it be worth turning everything upside down with a player base of 4?

Indeed, thats the main problem.

But how else can we keep the veterans interested and attract new players?

Beats me. NWN is dying slowly unless you're content with mindless sex RP, PvP or niches like Harry Potter or ... that Anime thing.

The server attracts the player and not the other way around. We just need random activities for players like I said, and then a realization of the xp and gp system too.
Leveling up is dependant on xp amount as well as abundance. For this purpose I'd like to ask if either Vince or Lore have added the Var Int for overriding xp a monster gives? (I type XP int 200, monster gives 200 xp)
And then lower xp back and rather give the high amounts of monsters for more appeal.

(The errand system I suggested ages ago, for example)

Acid, all you said is pretty neat from a plot standpoint but in the end we want a dynamic world not a disaster area... you know, if the enemy wins it's game over.

So all of those can happen in the form of an epic plot.

Though Janzel doesn't destroy anything, I'm trying to keep dxm out of it as much as possible.

Sounds like the fun of things actually. Our monsters could sure use some more ai and personality. Been thinking of suggesting to make them chat during combat.
