The idea behind this came when I was visiting the head to relieve myself. At the time I was editing the Zombie Corpse script and it came to me...wouldn't it be a lot easier to make frequently spawning monsters for battles rather than DMs having to Pause and Respawn, or even worse Respawn during battle.
Basically it’s a shortcut.
What this entails is a DM setting down a trigger and trough a widget or some such answering a list of questions.
What would you like to spawn [For the prototype Orcs & Lost Legend (skeleton army)]
How skilled is the Army? [This controls the frequency of what is spawned. The lower the army rank the weaker the monsters]
How many spawn points would you like to create? [The conversation will then ask you to move where each spawn point will be placed and then by choosing an option the spawn point (waypoint) will be placed down.
How often would you like the monsters to be spawned? [Done in blocks of 5 from 5 seconds to 60]
and then the Let Battle Commence option fires the mane script which will cause monsters to be spawned on the waypoints.
The battle can be ceased by selecting Clear Battle which deletes the Trigger and the Waypoints.
The Spawn Points can be changed by simply moving the Waypoints and an Emergency halt on the battle can be set by removing the Trigger (replacing the Trigger without selecting Cease Battle will start the spawning again, I believe)
The script will be long and complicated, but I'm pretty sure I can do it. Even if it takes over a month to do it will be more than worth it if it means DMs can concentrate more on the leaders of the battle lines rather than spawning minions.
What do you all think?
Once a working prototype has been set I can work on other things like different armies and the like.
In its advanced forms it will even be able to allow players to control their own armies with spawned units being commanded by a waypoint spawn and spawned units deducting a hire cost from the user. Obviously that means characters with more money will be able to lead bigger armies, but what if for things like the Undead you needed to find something else to hire them...souls? Body parts etc The script idea just gets more and more complicated and in that becomes more and more interesting.
Danny.
P.S.
Permission to lead the first player led Undead Army?

Discontinued by the original poster, but may still be implemented in some form.
