This tome, found long after the aspiring pale master was sent to hell is now old and dust covered, with small moth bites here and about. It is laced in leather, which is decorated with bone skulls and chains, depicting a cursed content. Dare you read this cursed tome, or leave it down on the ground where you found it?

Necromancy is normally a poor choice for arcanists, most powerful necromancers have at least some divine connection to one god or another, unlocking more powerful spells with the aid of deities, but this is not the only choice for the over proud necromancer.

Enter the true deathless master. Some call the lore they study Pale and sick. Others call them masters of death. To save on confusion later, the True Deathless master will herin be known as a Pale Master, and the lore will be discussed in this book. Beware however, these techniques are to be practiced not by any apprentice Necromancer, for such spells doom almost certainly. Before you begin with anything of the pale lore, it is wise to have quite the arsenal of spells to sling at those who will dismiss you for the acts you've commited. Your enemies will include Paladins, Druids, Monks, possibly silver fist at that, Priests of gods you would curse under your breath and witch hunters, no to mention vast armies of bounty hunters.

Chapter one: Bonemail Armour

Bones. The very foundation of any creature, the very strength behind the body that stands, crawls or slides across the forest ground. Bones of any type can be used to make a tough mail armour which, though heavy, does not hinder the casting ability of the pale master in any way. Why not? The weave of arcana is able to travel through the natural material as it is the mages interior bones, perhaps at an even faster rate.

The process involved in making bone mail armour is a long one. The first task is to collect an adequate amount of bone. These bones can be collected from any creature ranging from a mouse to a hydra. The best creatures in my personal experience are Lycanthropes, in particular werewolves. The magical construction of the bones is ideal as they constantly change form, meaning it will fit any person snugly in a "one size fits all" fashion. Also, since they are from a magical creature of such size and stature, they are naturally tougher than that of a smaller creature, such as an orc. When treated with a combination of a bears endurance potion and a stoneskin potion, which is to be poured over each and every bone in series before crafting to eliminate the risk of weak joints, the bones become almost as strong as the thickest plate mail armour, but perhaps more akin to the scale or chainmail armour in weight.

Once treated, the bones are ready for work. The case with lycanthrope bones should be that you can slot the bones into any socket or joint and, providing of course that it fits (it's not too large) it will adapt and take a new form, filling the hole and thus locking it in place. If you haven't used lycanthrope bones, it is best to keep as much of the skeletal carcass in tact. Submerge this in a vat of the above discussed potion overnight to ensure all cracks have been filled and hardened. Once the morning comes, dry the bones in the sun for one hour, no more than one hour as the liquid will begin to crack if you do, there is a final stage to creating such armour which stops this from happening. Take the rib cage of the non-lycanthropic bones, or the newly crafted chest piece of the lycanthrope bones and lay it down on the ground. Strap to the shoulders, a single skill, lycanthrope if possible, but again, any animal will suffice if you cannot find them. These will serve as shoulder guards. Leaving teath in can be hazardous, but give a terrifying appearance to your armour. The pelvic region is very hard to protect with bones. You could plate it with long, thin bones, such as that of the hip, or various ribs, but for comfort i propose you leave it unguarded and move onto the legs, which can be decorated with leg-bones themselves, encase the bones around the leg, reinforcing them with flat bones, sch as ribs, skulls and antlers of deer for boot-covers and the head of a large rodent, dire weasil for instance, for knee pads. The arms can be done in the same way.

It is wiser to wear a metalic or cloth helmet as apposed to bone, as bones un-easy surface can be bulky and weigh a lot and be uncomfortable, and thus, lower concentration.

Once you have constructed boots, bracers, chest and upper arm guards from your bone material, do not scatter the remaining bones for later use, instead, crush them into a fine powder and mix them with the sap of a dying tree, one part sap, four parts water, and pour this over your newly constructed bone armour. This will eventually harden and stop the solid undercoat from cracking, but will need constant attention as any mans plate mail will need after a set time.

Whilst wearing this armour you will find yourself, at first, easily spotted. But as your tallent progresses your armour will become so convincing that you can hide inside hordes of undead creatures.

Bones can also be used to make weapons. Spines make great whips, bones can make good clubs and, when your crafting skills become enough, even swords can be made, as long as they are treated in the same way as the armour, they will be as strong as any other weapon.

Chapter two: Arcane Weave Incrementation

As a wizard needs to study more spells in order to progress in power and a sorcerer needs to build on his will to cast in order to do so to, a pale master must too, depending on what the arcanist was before studying this pale lore. To put it in easier to digest chunks, a wizard who has converted to pale mastery will still need to study as he did when he was but a simple wizard. As sorcerer turned pale master will have to do likewise, progress his will, expand the casting prowess, in order to gain power from the pale lore this book will teach. Ignorance will not allow you to progress to greater things, and attempting to do so with limited power will almost always result in your death.

____________

Chapter three: Animating Corpses

The following technique teaches you to re-animate a dead or fallen ally or enemy as if they were alive again. Of course, they are not. This is a very advanced version of a pupetry spell. The palemaster must kiss the lips of the fallen and breath life into its frozen mouth, drawing a line with a single finger from its neck down its chest, ending at the belly button. If done correctly, the corpse will choke and jolt as the finger trails down its skin. Fear not if your eyes bleed during this transaction of power, or perhaps even your ears, such is normal, for the sheer intensity of this spell is something the brain cannot handle on common occurance.

Once animate, the corpse will move as you will it. If you wish it to defend you while you cast spells, you need just think the command, or say it into the open air, and the corpse will move defensively as you cast. If you wish it to charge, simply think or say so, and it will fearlessly run at its enemy, no matter who they are.

It is worth bearing in mind that animate corpses are subject to being turned away by magnificent pulses of negative or positive energy expelled from poth Knights, and their dark cousins, and that corpses without legs will not be able to walk, thus, it is a pointless thing to animate one so badly damaged.

Chapter four: Visions of the Necromancer

When the dark begins to lose its mystery, it is clear you are well on the road to becoming the deathless master you so dream of. This ritual can be done at any circle of power, of any strength, though a weak one is advised. The ingredients you need are listed below.

One Jar containing two dead beetles, stag.
One vial, small of acid, corrosive.
One vial, small of blood, elven
One vial, small of blood, unicorn OR pegasai
One pestil and morter

One jar, large, empty

Instructions:

Aquire two stag beetles from the closest desert, contain them in an air tight jaw, this way they'll suffocate and you'll not damage them by squeezing their heads or stamping their shells. One back at your laboritory, open the jar. If they're still alive, empty the vial of acid into the jar, but do not let the fumes escape. Allow the bodies of the creautres to dissolve and their interior organs and blood to mix with the acid. Brear in mind at this point, the acid is still very corrosive. Empty the new substance into a china pestil and morter as a wooden one will not suffice, and crush it down further, until any chunks have become a find water. Now add the unicorns blood and mix, then the elf blood and mix. The substance should now be a glistening brown colour.

NOTE: When opening the jar to remove the beetles and acid, do not inhale the fumes. Such could cause you to fall dazed and spill something.

Once the liquid has turned to the brown colour, take a single pipette and take a single drop of the liquid, no more, no less, and drop it directly into your pupil. This will cause immense pain, and blackening of the iris. Repeat with the other eye and sit in the dark to rest off the pain. After several hours have passed, you will notice slight blurs of sight, even in the darkest of rooms. Several hours more, and you will have teh same vision as you had before the experiment began. Another five hours and your eye-whites will have totally gone, all but a slight trim, and you will be able to see perfectly in the dark, as a dwarf does. The eyes also add an effect of awe or terror to certain people, depending on their outlook and knowledge of the pale lore you study.

Chapter five: Undead as Armour

As no doubt you're a keen necromancer and you use minions to get the best of your opponents, you might see a lot of them fall to the ground, dead, again. For this reason, this entry has been added for experimental reasons.

Zombie or Ghoul hide is extremely thick and padded, if a little bit soft and squishy. Wearing this over the top of your bone armour might prove useful, if heavy and cumbersom. The theory is, the hide will take a lot of the weight from bludgeoning weapons, and the bones behind will resist most stabbing and slashing weapons, making it the perfect armour. Such remains to be tested on the third day of the fourth month ofthe thousand one hundred and thirty seventh year.

CLARIFIED: Day: 1 Month: 8 Year: 1137

It is clear that not only does wearing the flesh of one of your minions help to prevent such weapons as clubs and flails, but also some magical effects that druids throw at you become nullified. Things such as poisons and diseases don't seem to benetrate the undead skin. For this reason it is wise to coat your helmet with the skin to prevent aimed attacks to your mouth. Unfortunately the hide is not as efficient as it were when it was an undead. You still have beating organs, and should one become ruptured it will bleed none the less, making you weak to blows that would normally be fatal if left for extended periods, and un-fair strikes, so to speak, by people who would normally aim for one of these organs.

Chapter seven: Deathless Vigor

This is perhaps the single most dangerous part of becoming a pale master. The process here involves replacing a portion of your blood with the congealed mass of that of an undead creaturre. The subject must represent human form, such as a Zombie or Ghoul. Note that though the blood will not flow, it must still obey the laws of gravity. If you happen across an undead that has been drained of blood through wounds, simply find another. Harvest enough blood to accumulate at least half of your own, around three pints. Once collected within a bucket or similar container your must now, of course, drain your own blood. Mix some in with that you have harvested as to dilute it, and stur it with your hand or a stick if you're squeemish.

Now the tricky part comes. You need to seal the wound you've made, probably by burning it together with a negative burst or ray, or speaking to the priest of darkness within your circle. Once done, theres the problem of inserting the blood into your now limp and weak and quickly dying body. There are several ways.

Take one dagger and one bent glass tube. Cut a hole in a vein on your wrist and suck on one end of the tube, while the other is in the bucked. This will cause the blood to be syphoned from the bucket, providing it's the correct consistency. Under no circomstances must you drink the blood, since it will not enter the bloodstream and you will vomit it back up. Enter the other end of your tube into your vein, but don't press it against the other side, and let your circulatory system do the rest.

There are of course other ways to do this, any way you choose as long as the blood gets into your veins is fine. Should you be cut, your body will continue to make this black blood, you will not need to repeat this pricess again as mixing your red blood vessles with the undead blood simply confuses the body into making it think that molecular make up is correct and, over time, it will begin to produce it as standard.

This technique is known commonly among pale masters as deathless vigor as it brings you closer to becoming one with the undead while still retaining life. But of course, there are other names that will be thrown around by commoners and people who think they know, but don't. Black Blooded Demons have been mentioned before during battle, Cursed Bloods have also, as well as Dirty blood, fused warriors and various other rubbish that means nothing. Ignore these chants, for they attempt to get you aggressive and give reason to kill you.

Chapter eight: Undead Graft

This technique is rather simple, if bloody. It's effective and will bring you closer to the undead creatures we study in the sense that, you will have one of their arms. The process removes your own arm in the sted of an dead one. Any creature will do, ogre, giant, lizard man, kobold. Take your pick, find the creature, kill it and take its arm. Depending on whether you wish a fleshy look or a bone look, cut off the skin and flesh of the arm, down to the bone, or leave it on, of course, if you wish for the different, less obvious look.

Now the tricky part. Take in your right hand a machette or scimitar. Enchant it with flame if you can, this will instantly quaterise the wound, meaning you won't bleed to death in a matter of seconds. One your arm writhes around on the ground, take the graft of the creature just killed and fuse it to your shoulder joint with your negative prowess.

You will instantly feel stronger and more able with this arm, regardless of size and weight, you will be able to lift it with ease and as much skill as you could before.

There are two techniques you can channel through this arm, which i will discuss now.

The ghouls touch spell; something which will hold your opponants still and let you take advantage of their new state of body. This can be done by touching any part of their body, their legs, arms or chest and channeling your potantial into them. You should find that, as long as their body is weak enough, they cease in their path. The other of course is similar to finger of death, to do which you must touch the head of the target and channel your potential. Providing again that they are weaker than yourself, they should of course die on the spot.

_________
Chapter nine: Skeletal Akin

At this point in your studies you should be aware of what a skeletal companions resistances and weaknesses are, thus you should be able to figure out that it would be a great advantage for you to be alike one, yet, not quite become one.

Sumon forth a skeletal mass, large or small, it matters not and lock it to a wall, ensure this is dont properly as the skeleton is likely to become hostile, since it's existance will be threatened. Reach into the skeleton, as you would when removing the soul of one you wish dead. Such will feed strange of course, the skeleton will have no obvious thing to take, it lost what you are searching for a long time ago, after all. But you will know when you have found that little spark that allows it to move and think tacically. Enclose your hand around its essence and pull it from within. You will notice the creatures lack of movement isntantly. Absorb its essence through your graft, be it bone or flesh.

You will awake several hours later with a sore head, but no blood loss, perhaps the skin will have split even, but such a fall will not have bothered you, nor will any in the future. You will also find that the venomous blade of an assassin or the defying bite of a rat have little effect on your partial undead essence. Well dont, reader. You're on your way to becoming something great.

________
Chapter ten: Undead Cohort

As you become closer to that which you study, as read on the previous page, that which you study will become more interested in you. Creatures will flock from miles to lay eyes on you, study you in return as it were. Those of least intelligence will be awed, but those with greater intelligence, vampires, mummies, similar creatures, might offer you a deal. should you accept they will be loyal and follow you wherever they go in return for whatever your part of the deal was. Of course nothing says you cant break this deal and treat them as slaves...

Whatever your will this creature will be a powerful ally to you.
