 Post subject: A decision.

We have the following problems on the server constantly.
1. Too harsh rules forcing people into high rp and less grinding
2. Too low xp and too hard monsters
3. OR people leveling too fast.

The solution as I have made a decision will be a system that allows players to kill endless amounts of crap but if somebody levels too fast (what "too fast" is defined as is to be discussed later) they will simply gain reduced exp and as rp rewards, you will gain increased exp for a given period of time.

You could basically say that since this is a rp server, if people want to gain levels by killing monsters, they have to actually rp it to an extent. Make it an interesting read on the forums and also... you could limit their skills and spells etc only allowing those that go out and fight all the time to just gain the benifits of increased hp and battle ability.

Make them rp for their skills that they learn. Killing endless goblins doesn't make them better at weapon craft for example.

My point. I actually approve of the NPC Tutor system. We could add tutors for every class and instead of making all of them rarely appear, make training cost something: some would want to be paid in gems, others would want gold, alcohol, whatever.

works, let's just hope the arguement of "Why punish the new players, when the older ones all got to grind" bleh, I remember those days on other servers.

I don't know how somebody would feel towards this but we'll use my example that I had a while back. I was sitting at level 31 and had a big ol rp event where I died in the far north, in a sense and was reincarnated. I lost the levels and had to gain those lost levels again. With that I took the time to rp the lost levels and how weak I was from that. Now I figured that having a rp event could be used for somebody who is leveling to fast like 2 or 3 levels each week and make them lose that xp.....but as I type this it sounds like a bad idea....um..hmm.


Side note I approve lots with the NPC tutor that require certain items or such to level. When I was leveling WM it took forever to wait and find a WM, let alone trying to find him in the first place

The problem with that, Mike, is that we don't have the amount of dms and never will have the amount of dms to progress every single character. So restrictions are required unfortunately.

If I were to offer you a piece of advice with boosted XP it would be to do it for a number of kills, rather than a period of time, or combine both. There are some players who dont fight as often as others and if we give them 3 hours of tripple XP, then they may not get the xp. If we give them 30 monsters of tripple XP for example, expiring after 2 months, there's a high chance that they'll be able to take part in an upcoming event and get their boosted XP.
