Appearance:

A petite, soft looking young woman with fairly pretty features, looking to have seen no more than twenty winters. Her almond-shaped brown eyes, silky black hair and reserved, humble mannerisms an obvious indication that she is of Zheraden birth. Her clothing, simple yet functional, is made of fabrics and quality that tell of her station as a member of the merchant class in her native society.

The most obvious thing about this girl is her missing left arm, cut cleanly from her shoulder and healed over years ago. She seems unaffected by the missing limb through years of practice, though it still limits her in many ways. Far less obvious, hidden by the locks of hair used to obscure half of her face, are deep burn scars from a fire at her home. While her eyes was, luckily, unharmed, the surrounding skin was heavily damaged. Scar tissue even snakes down her neck and on to other parts of her body.

If seen in any state of undress, the true extent of her injuries becomes clear, no longer a simple girl with beautiful skin. Instead she is covered in scars of varying age from lacerations, arrow punctures, burns and other battlefield wounds. There are even portions scarred over where chunks of flesh have been torn away.

She always carries a weapon or three hidden on her, though how many exactly is up for debate. These include, but are not limited to, a ninja-to, many shuriken and a length of chain with a kunai attached at the end.

History:
(Spoiler Alert)

Aki was born on a cool autumn evening, the youngest of seven siblings and one the few daughters of the Inoue merchant family. She lived a happy a happy childhood within the heart of the city, sharing a building with her extended family, many aunts and uncles along with their children. She never questioned the secret meetings at the dead of night, the mysterious injuries her family members would come home with, or the occasional visits paid to their humble home by emissaries of the Daimyo himself. It was an innocent time, free of many worries suffered by the less fortunate. She was never spoiled, but she was never left wanting.

Upon her eighth birthday Aki was enlightened as to the true nature of her family. She was not born into a family of merchants, but a secretive clan of shinobi. The Inoue clan was in the service of Daimyo Ichinoru Hatsuwara and his family, serving them faithfully. Her normal life ended that day, replaces with training regimens, combat practice and stealth lessons. It was a family effort, learning side by side with cousins of similar age. There was little room for error, the training intense and her teachers unforgiving.

As she grew older so did her skills, excelling at kenjutsu, kusarigamajutsu, shurikenjutsu and boryaku. She learned to use poison n assassinations, how to deceive enemies and create distractions to her benefit. She remembers clearly the words of her father, "If you find yourself in a fair fight, you did not prepare enough."

The end of her training came late in her eighteenth year of life, ready to take her final test and fully join the Inoue clan. She swore the tradition oath, loyalty to Daimyo Hatsuwara, his family and the citizens under his gaze. Moments before the test could finally begin the secure building they has always called headquarters came under attack, an unknown enemy invading and setting fire to the clan's home.

The battle was fierce and bloody, an enemy with the element of surprise and superior numbers laying waste to the Inoue shinobi. Aki, as with her fellow trainees, were called to fight and prove themselves. The tide of battle started to slowly shift, the Inoue having the benefit of home turf, traps and defenses built naturally into their headquarters. They began to repel the invaders, though their identities remained unknown. Near the end of the battle, chasing down stragglers through the hallways and training rooms, Aki was surrounded with two fellow shinobi. Aki lost her left arm in the fight for survival, her body damaged so badly she would not awake for three days after the attack. The other two were not so lucky, and were slaughtered. Only a counter from other family members allowed for her survival.

When she awoke, she was surrounded by familiar faces, though far fewer than she would have liked. Nearly half of the Inoue clan was dead in the single attack, her mother and three brothers included. They continued to operate as they always had, a cover story created around the attack and subsequent restoration of their home, even in the midst of tragedy serving Daimyo Hatsuwara. Now they had a secondary mission. Locate their new enemy and obliterate them and their families, no mercy.

It took nearly two years for the clan to discover their attackers, and for Aki to recover from her injuries and retrain her abilities. While the identity of the agents were still a mystery, those being them were the Arashiigawa. A yakuza family bestowed lordship over the Rainfield fisherman society and most of the trades. They were also known for their ties to organized crime elsewhere, including The Syndicate. A plan was designed, for the sake of not just revenge, but to eliminate what one day become a threat to the Daimyo. They would strike at the arms of the Arashiigawa, their organized crime ties. Once those were severed they would descend upon the Arashiigawa and wipe them out completely.

Starseer Academy would be Aki's cover, attending the school for an education in business abroad. In truth she would seek out The Syndicate. She was to disrupt their activities, gather information and when given the chance assassinate key members. She relished the idea, more than happy to serve for family and their Daimyo in this task. Missing her arm would not hinder her, she would only strike faster and harder.
