. . ."Sir?"
Yes, Lieutenant?
"Captain Reynolt has replied, by runner. He's heavily engaged with mob violence and responding to reports of widespread looting in the uptown area. . . he. . he has men scattered all over the place, from the markets, to the docks, and outskirts."
I. . .I see.
"No word as yet from the Lady General, and there is a strong possibility that the Lord Captain may have been killed. . .reports from field units indicate heavily to moderate casualties in the combat elements, yet we think that overall, our major divisions are intact."
"I. .it.. .saddens me to also report, that they appear to be in full flight from the front, sir."
Thank you, Liuetenant.
"Sir. Captain Reynolt, The City Watch and the Home Defence Army are requesting your orders. What shall I tell them?"

The safety of Solinar is of primary importance, Lieutenant, everyone will be recalled to the city. Everyone. This city will be policed, the panic quelled, and order restored.
"Yes, sir. Of course, sir."
I also want our ambassadors in all allied cities contacted. People need to be briefed, support needs to be mustered. Tell them to screw dignity and do what they must.
"The orders will be written and issued, Warlord."
Solinar needs her protectors now more then ever, Lieutenant. Get moving, get in contact with these people, get these orders issued, and we will be able to salvage the situation.
Yes, sir, at once, sir.

My Lord. . .
Liuetenant?
We have been unable to execute your orders, sir. We've tried everything, nobody can be reached. . .
They will have to come to us, then.
The route back home will be perilous, especially so while they are virtually unarmed, sir. [i] People will make it. They are soldiers, they will come.
[i]Of course, sir.
It's a mess, officer. Solinar's power is gone. Solinar -is- gone.
Hell, I know, sir.
Yet we must hold on, we must, the people depend on it.

From the desk of the Matriarch
All will be well Warlord General. I have sent for additional armaments to be delivered to your soldiers no later than a twoday. Never lose hope Lucas, for the day you do, all that you have worked for, all that the people of Solinar look up to, will crumble. It will crumble like the ash that once was their long arm of the law on High. We must not lose hope.
All will be well, Candeth Hearthsinger Matriarch and Mother of the Hin
